After Rain is a five-track study in release and renewal. It was recorded between a small bedroom studio and the back room of a Bandung coffee shop during the wet season.

The record follows the feeling of a city becoming audible again after the rain: motorbikes in the distance, water moving through gutters, and the first voices returning to the street.

The ending track was cut last, at four in the morning, in one take — the microphone left open so the first motorbikes outside became part of the song.
